What’s Difference Between Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid Strains?

It’s a mistake to lump all cannabis into one broad category. There are three strains of cannabis, each with its own unique properties.

The word strain is used to differentiate breeds of cannabis plants. The three strain types of cannabis include:

  • Indica – Indica strains of cannabis have a relaxing effect on cannabis users. They’re often used for pain relief and stress reduction.
  • Sativa – Sativa strains have a more uplifting effect on users. Cannabis enthusiasts may use sativa strains of cannabis if they want to think creatively or engage in in-depth conversations.
  • Hybrid – Hybrid strains of cannabis combine some of the effects of Sativa and Indica strains. They tend to relax users and relieve pain while also creating a mind-body balance.

Indica strains are bushy, while Sativa strains are tall, and about half of all strains are hybrid strains. To learn more about cannabis strains and their effects, check out this infographic from ClearTest.
